Turnips with Crispy Bacon

This is always a hit at Thanksgiving or Christmas, a lovely side dish to any poultry.

After dicing, boiling and mashing them through a ricer,
dry-fry up some diced lean smoked bacon and when crisp, sprinkle
over the mashed turnips and then drizzle some of the bacon fat over all.
